Marathon day is one of the most exciting days in Boston, as over half a million spectators come out to cheer the runners in one of the World’s most famous races. If you want to partake in the cheering and catch some of the excitement we would recommend the following locations for spectating:
Newton Hills (mile 16.8) – great for viewing, and the runners can use your help as they start the series of hills that culminates in Heartbreak hill. Accessible by Green Line D train, Woodland stop
Boston College (mile 22.5), great for viewing alongside the boisterous BC students. Accessible by Green Line D train, Reservoir stop and then approximately a 5 minutes walk.
Brookline (mile 24-25) a little crowded, however you should be able to have a great vantage. Accessible by Green Line C train, any stop between Coolidge Corner and St. Mary’s
Copley Square/Finish (26.2) very crowded, thus it’s recommended to get there early and make a day of it. Accessible by Green Line, Arlington stop or Hynes Convention stop and then an approximately 15 minutes walk from either stop.
